As for a life update . . .


General Crap

I've been in a slump for a while, plagued with depression, lack of motivation, lack of confidence, and just general emotude.  x.x  Fortunately I feel as if I've pulled myself out of it now and just plain need to get shit done.  I'm waaay behind in everything I wanted to accomplish.

My partner and I bought our own house last November and have been spending a lot of time (and getting what we need whenever we have the money to) getting the place in ship-shape.  It's finally almost there and I FINALLY have a workspace!  This is why I've been much more productive lately.  Now if I can just find a good balance and keep up the pace.  *grin*

I also went through a couple of job changes this past year.  In order to have more time for dog training (I am now teaching Puppy Foundation, Agility I, and Agility II at K9 University www.myk9u.com), I took a part time job as a tech for my vet.  Unfortunately she laid me off five months later because she needed a "full time" worker and I couldn't work full time.  To be honest, the woman shouldn't be running her own practice (she's an awesome vet, but she has the business, communication, and organizational skills of a wood louse) and, come to find, there is a lot of turnover there due to stupid reasons.  Fortunately I took up a different part-time job at K9U doing kennel work.

College degrees are worth shit in Oklahoma, I've found.  This state is so friggin' backwards.



Convention Crap

That first job change I spoke about happened right before I was supposed to go to A-Kon and rendered us unable to go due to finances.  Which.  Sucked.

However, I am ON for AnimeFest!  

We just will be staying with family and not at the hotel this year.  *sigh*  Ah well.

We'll manage.
